How to cancel Instacart+

A clear, step-by-step guide to cancelling your Instacart+ membership, plus the things worth checking before you leave.

Before you cancel

  • There's no fixed contract, so you can cancel anytime. Your access simply runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Expect to be offered a retention discount or loyalty deal to make you stay. If you're sure you want to cancel, stand your ground.
  • Cancel before your next renewal date to avoid being charged for another period.
  • If you subscribed through Apple, Google or another provider, you must cancel with them, not Instacart+ directly.
  • Get a confirmation (on-screen or by email) and keep it as proof of the date you cancelled.

How to cancel Instacart+, step by step

  1. Open instacart.com (select the 3 horizontal lines, top left) or the app (tap the Account icon, top right).
  2. Select 'Your Instacart+ membership'.
  3. Under 'Manage your membership', select 'Cancel membership'.
  4. Select 'Continue to cancel'.
  5. Select 'Confirm cancellation'. You keep $0 delivery fees through the end of your billing period; it won't auto-renew.
