Cancellation guide
How to cancel Google One
A clear, step-by-step guide to cancelling your Google One Software, plus the things worth checking before you leave.
Before you cancel
- There's no fixed contract, so you can cancel anytime. Your access simply runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
- Expect to be offered a retention discount or loyalty deal to make you stay. If you're sure you want to cancel, stand your ground.
- Cancel before your next renewal date to avoid being charged for another period.
- If you subscribed through Apple, Google or another provider, you must cancel with them, not Google One directly.
- Get a confirmation (on-screen or by email) and keep it as proof of the date you cancelled.
How to cancel Google One, step by step
- On a computer, go to one.google.com and sign in.
- Click 'Settings', then 'Cancel membership'.
- Click 'Cancel membership' again to confirm.
- You keep your storage and benefits until the end of the billing cycle, then drop to the free 15 GB.
- On Android: open the Google One app > Menu > Settings > Cancel membership > confirm. On iPhone/iPad, if you bought it in the App Store, cancel through Apple instead.
