Cancellation guide

How to cancel EE

A clear, step-by-step guide to cancelling your EE mobile, plus the things worth checking before you leave.

Before you cancel

  • You may be in a minimum contract, so leaving early can trigger an early-exit charge. Ask for the exact figure before you agree to anything.
  • Expect to be offered a retention discount or loyalty deal to make you stay. If you're sure you want to cancel, stand your ground.
  • There may be a notice period, so you can be billed for a short while after you ask to leave. Cancel as early as you can.
  • Cancel from the account you actually pay with, and make sure you're the billing owner before you start.
  • Always get your cancellation confirmed in writing and keep it.

How to cancel EE, step by step

  1. If you're keeping your number, text PAC to 65075 to get a switching code, then give it to your new network to move across.
  2. If you're not keeping your number but still switching, text STAC to 75075 and give that code to your new network.
  3. If you just want to leave, cancel online at myaccount.ee.co.uk/app/leave-ee, or call 150 from an EE phone or 07953 966 250 from any phone.
  4. You must give at least 30 days' notice, which still applies even if your minimum term has ended.
  5. If you're still inside your minimum term, an early termination charge applies (roughly the remaining monthly charges, less VAT, less a small early-payment discount, then VAT added back).
  6. You'll get your final bill within 14 days of the cancellation or switch completing, and any credit is refunded about eight days after that.
